Versions available

To meet the different needs of implementers depending on the installation environment, user needs, expected traffic and available budget, BRAINBOX has developed different easybike versions available, which are detailed below.
easybike Dock: Automated rental stations for conventional bike system

The easybike Dock version is easybike’s automated bike rental system and allows you to automatically pick up a bike, use it for as long as necessary and then return it to any rental station. There, the user and the bike are automatically recognized and the charge is made according to the time the bike has been used.

The stations are constructions suitable for outdoor use and operate at temperatures from -20°C to 50°C and are not affected by rain or snow. They have the ability to interact with the user and accept an electronic RF ID card by simply showing the card in front of the reader.

easybike e-Dock: Automated rental stations for electric bike system

This specific solution is a fully automated bicycle rental system that can familiarize citizens with the use of the bicycle and be a wonderful alternative means of transportation.

The lock/charge stations allow you to automatically pick up a bike, use it for as long as necessary and then return it to any rental station and charge it. They have a built-in heavy-duty bicycle locking mechanism, which ensures the robustness of the construction and that it is not possible to remove the bicycle by force. They are permanently networked with each other via a mobile phone network (GPRS) and host the system software taking over the management of the bicycles.

The rental system also has proper communication with the management software and will have the intelligence to decide to start and stop the charging process of the bike battery depending on its current charge level.

These are constructions suitable for outdoor use and operate at temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius, while they are not affected by rain or snow.

easybike Dockless: Electronic GPS/GPRS locks

The easybike Dockless version is about electronic locks that turn any bike into an electronically controlled vehicle. These are metal constructions suitable for use in the city, while at the same time they are resistant to damage and difficult use. They allow the electronic locking – unlocking of the bikes on which they are installed, through a special software application for mobile phones. in order to convert the electric cargo bike into an electronically controlled one.

Electronic locks have a built-in GPS/GPRS system to provide real-time information to the system control software about their location, movement and parking.

The locks work at temperatures found in Greece and are not affected by rain and snow.

easybike Dockless: Electric bikes GPS/GPRS

The easybike Dockless version is also offered with specially made electric type bikes. This version gives users the option to pick up and use an e-bike exclusively using a dedicated mobile phone app, returning it to one of the available parking zones defined through the control software. They have an internal electronic locking system for locking / unlocking the bike.

The electric bike system works differently from other systems as there are no parking stands. The system is free float/dockless, i.e. of a different, more modern technology. The charging of the batteries is achieved through the battery swap process, i.e. the maintenance crew will change the discharged batteries with new charged ones based on the needs.

More details about electric bikes can be found in the “Electric Bikes” category.

Bicycle station shelter

For the need to shelter the bicycles and protect them from the weather, the easybike system has specially constructed bicycle shelters to protect the bicycles in the best possible way while at the same time being harmoniously integrated into the installation area and the surrounding area. Canopies are stylish structures specially designed for bicycle stations. They are available in different dimensions and are adapted to the requirements of each bicycle locking point.

If required, a version of the roofs with electric autonomy is also provided. In other words, the canopies can provide electric autonomy to the stations and to electric bicycles. Their construction is special so that through an integrated photovoltaic system on the roof and an energy storage area, they provide the required energy. More specifically, photovoltaic panels can be placed on the roof of the shelters and the relevant wiring through the stable parts of the shelter ends up in a special area where batteries and accumulators are stored. Thus, through proper wiring routing, power is supplied to the stations on the electric bikes when they are parked on their stands.
